Is it worth it to crash with us? George Hofheimer, Chief Research Officer of the Filene Research Institute, and one of our Crash Session leaders, has composed a list of 7 reasons why your credit union should send you to Crash the GAC:
1. The GAC is a senior level event meant to illustrate to policymakers the power of the credit union lobby. What is more powerful than a grassroots, young-adult led convening?
2. As a future leader in the credit union system, I need to know what the issues of the future are.
3. All the leading thinkers will be there, if I come back with just one idea it will more than pay for my time/expense.
4. This event will motivate me as an employee and help me better engage with the larger CU system.
5. This is a “test before you buy” experiment: you are not paying for a full blown registration to GAC, just a low-cost alternative which is aligned with today’s challenges.
6. What better time to think beyond the walls of our credit union? The competition is reeling, let’s get new ideas to take advantage of the situation.
7. I have no/little contacts outside our local market, building a network of other young, dedicated credit union leaders will help me do my job better.

I, for one, support the GAC crash. I’m old and have resources so I won’t be bunkin’ with y’all, but “what George said.”
GAC is the place for movers and shakers and drinkers and thinkers. Go forth and conquer.
See you in the hospitality suite!
Denise, it won’t be the same without you.
And seriously, no one puts Baby in the corner.
